The mission of the Turrill Elementary Parent-Teacher Committee (PTC) is to support students by encouraging and building strong relationships between parents, teachers, and other school personnel. We hope to build awareness of activities and events occurring through the year with monthly newsletters and regular Facebook posts. We plan to work closely with school faculty to create programming to benefit the school.
The PTC is dedicated to the educational success and overall well-being of each student at Turrill. We will advocate for students and teachers to be well cared for and well supplied for a beneficial learning environment. We value the contribution of our Turrill families and outside partners as we collaborate to achieve our goals.
In order to reach our goals, we have fundraising opportunities planned throughout the year including, but not limited to, Swag Sales, Popcorn Days, Catalogs, Penny Wars, Santa Shop, Spring Dance, and Carnival. Other fundraisers may occur during the year based on interest.
1. Fundraising through the year to pay for:
Classroom supplies, books, & grade-level funds
Supplemental Curriculum (Mi History, Science Alive, etc)
Family Dance
End of Year events (Carnival, Field Day, Clap Out, etc)
Teacher Appreciation meals and gifts
After school events (Trunk or Treat, etc)
Various additional events through the year
2. Encourage parent volunteers to be part of school activities and events like Book Fair, Literacy Center, Holiday Night, Teacher Donations etc.
3. Advocate for updates and safety of the school building and grounds.
