Dear LCS Parents, Students, and Lapeer Community,
As most of you are aware, there has been a lot of discussion in the past 24 hours about two of our students at the Rolland-Warner Campus. The outpouring of kindness and support for our students and their families is deeply appreciated.
In light of what transpired, the district will work with the families of both students. Together, our primary concern is for the student's well-being.
We feel it is important to reiterate that student safety is always the No. 1 priority at Lapeer Community Schools. We are and will continue to investigate this situation using all available resources.
It's essential to prioritize safety and security in our schools. We have debriefed with our staff and students today about what transpired. As parents, we ask that you take some time to talk with your children and please let us know if any concerns arise as a result of those conversations.
Lapeer Community Schools offers counseling, social work, and mental health resources for students, staff, and families. We encourage families to contact your child's school if your child is faced with a crisis and remember, we are always here to help.
