We are saddened to report the passing of Sharon Howey, a parapro at Turrill Elementary who worked with cognitively impaired students.
Sharon passed away on Sunday, December 14, at the age of 58.
Sharon, a Lapeer West High School Class of 1985 graduate, had recently received her 10-year service pin from Lapeer Community Schools. She was someone who truly loved her job, which also included working elementary summer camps and intersessions, and the students she was privileged to work with on a daily basis.
Turrill will have emotional support staff available this week providing ongoing support for students and staff.
Cremation services have been entrusted to Muir Brothers Funeral Home, Lapeer. Please check the Muir Brothers Funeral Home website for arrangements as they will be finalized in the next couple days.
